About the Speaker
Dr. Pell is a graduate of the City College of the City University of New York (B.S., biology) and Rutgers University (Ph.D., plant biology). She began her career as a high school chemistry teacher and research associate. In 1973, Pell joined the Penn State faculty as assistant professor of plant pathology. In 1995, she was named Steimer professor of agricultural sciences. Pell's research interests include the effects of air pollution on vegetation, with an emphasis on mechanistic studies at the biochemical, molecular, physiological, and whole plant levels.
Seating provided for graduates only. All others are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
